Accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (James 1:21)

As infants we require food, care and shelter. These three needs are innate, and we instinctively cry out when they are not met. As we grow older, we naturally develop and matureā€¦ yet the three needs present in us from our conception remain throughout our lives. It is a great sorrow that so many of our world lack in some or all these areas.

The readings this Sunday 2nd of September remind us of the need we have for God. This need is also planted in us from the very beginning of our existence and remains with us until we return to our Creator. The Spirit is alive in us, and like a new-born child cries out to the Father in heaven, moving our hearts to pray and do good works.

This week let us be mindful of the Holy Spirit dwelling within our hearts, and as Jesus invites us to; allow the Spirit to transform us in word and deed, so that our actions in our daily lives become a prayer of praise and thanksgiving to God.
